The Band

Late Night Maybes

HISTORY: The LATE NIGHT MAYBES was founded in 2018 by Jon Tatooles, Jim Koomar, Russ Sharpswain and former drummer Tim Graham. Originally called LOCAL HOPS (after the homebrew they consumed at practices), the band started out playing private parties and backyards before bringing the show to the public in winter of 2018. The band changed names in February 2019 after a friend of the band told us he had guests coming to a gig, but some of them were “late night maybes.”

To fill our set lists, Jim and Russ often performed a short acoustic set in the middle of the band’s gigs. Eventually this duo formed a side project called the BROTHERS MAYBE, and they continue to perform acoustic shows in the area that expand on the band’s catalog (often with guest artists including the other members of the LNM).

After building up the band’s catalog, the LNM played out several times in 2019 before booking three Madison-area shows in spring of 2020…only to be stymied by the Covid pandemic. Through the pandemic they continued to practice outdoors, and when it seemed safe they started jamming in the basement once again.

2021 saw the departure of Tim Graham and the arrival of Kevin Smith on drums. Kevin brought a renewed energy to the band as they emerged from the pandemic and started playing out in public once again.

Fall of 2022 brought the 5th member into the fold, “New Neighbor” Steve Harold on rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Now a “complete” band, the LATE NIGHT MAYBES proceeded to play Madison-area venues as much as they can.
